DRLNG - First Shot at Product Photography

So yesterday I gave product photography a shot for the first time. I have been pinning how to do it for months and finally got it done. It's definitely not the best, but not awful. I'm excited to document my progression as I start adding on new tools and techniques.

For this shoot I used a white matte board under the sash, a white matte board reflecting the light, and artificial flowers. I started off shooting from the landing on the stairs in my apartment with the front door open for light. I then moved my set up outside, staying under the porch covering. I am undecided which I prefer and look forward to trying more set ups.

Here's some examples:

Here is an example from indoors. The shadows are still too dark so my next run will include tin foil to reflect light from the other side.

I gave my f-stop some love and tried out different depths of field. This is one of my favorite shots from then. This was taken on the porch.

Another example using different depths of field. The lighting on this one is not as good. I was messing around with ISO and other levels worked out better.
