A Little Bit About Me
(I've been staring at the blinking text line (that's a real technical term, right?) for about 20 minutes now. The reality that the next 6 months of my life will be devoted solely to KNDL is pretty intimidating. But everyone's gotta start somewhere! So here goes . . . . . . . )
Hi, my name is Kendall! I am currently a student at Texas State University majoring in Communication Design and minoring in Mass Communications. Basically, my days are spent in one building; the ever faithful JCM. If you ever visit our lovely art building, you will get the pleasure of experiencing the longest elevator ride of your life, stepping over Basic Drawing students learning how to draw a vanishing point, and never really knowing what's going to be on the walls (or floor, or ceiling, or hanging mid air) around the next corner. Odds are you'll run into me and all my fellow Com Des comrades on the 3rd floor. I'm the one with a blanket wrapped around me (it's cold, okay?) and probably a snack or 2 in my hands.
Now enough about that, here's some random, yet relevant facts about me.
- I am a procrastinating perfectionist (yay all nighters!)
- My favorite food is pizza
- I somehow fell into a position of painting birthday sashes and it has now become a part time job/passion (Darling Designs rebrand coming soon!)
- I am annoyingly obsessed with my crazy family
- I am ALWAYS cold (hence the blanket)
- Buy me a beer and we'll be best friends forever
- I have the cutest dog ever who can't keep her tongue in her mouth (see photos below)
- If I ever go missing, check my bed because that's probably where I'll be (I might or might not be there now. Don't judge.)
- For as long as I can remember, my favorite color has always been navy. To the point that my first car was, in fact, navy (RIP Hanes the VW)
- I am obsessed with Corgi butts and Golden Retrievers
- I always find myself watching movies and shows centered around the British Monarchy. In some ways, I think this has influenced the way I design because of the old typography they show.
Reading back on that list I am realized just how odd I really am. Oh well.
So how did I come up with the name KNDL Design? Well, it's pretty simple. Take my name, remove the vowels and that pesky second L and voila! KNDL was born.
To whoever may be reading this, please send up a prayer to the Big Guy (or whoever you believe in) that I survive and strive the next 6 months. I need all the good vibes I can get.
So with that . . . . . . . here goes nothing!
