After much deliberation I have decided to kill my Bambuz project. It was going to need a complete overhaul and was not a company I was truly passionate about. I want to spend my time doing rebrands that reflect my style and where I hope my career to go.

When brainstorming ideas for what kind of companies to dive into, I came up with this list of options:

A purse company
A corporate events and wedding planning company
Candles
Makeup
Planners and calendars
Local boutiques
A Wine Brand
A teacher supply store

Ultimately, I decided on the idea of a planner and calendar company due to the fact that I am a literal psycho about my planners. I have certain preferences that are always hard to find in today's planner industry. For instance, I prefer unlined weekly pages, a heavy enough paper weight to where you can't see the other side of the page (much harder to find than you would think), and simple/clean design on pages. Finding all of these things together, while still being an appealing appearance on the outside, feels impossible most years.

When looking at competitors, there seems to be two levels of designs available; those on the Erin Condren/Passion Planner level and those on the At-A-Glance/BlueSky level. My goal is to combine the attributes that make the more pricey planners so effective and the price of the Walmart/Target finds.

One of the things that defines the level of price is customizability. Erin Condren, for example, allows you to customize your cover design (image and personalization), calendar timeline, coil color, optional personal photos added to the back cover, and optional add ons such as sticker books and rulers.
